This season Toga turned the show space into a fun house. There are too many ways to play the colour games and print puzzles. The beginning of the collection seems to be like a child playing hide-and-seek. Wearing the oversized silhouette, and even reversing the back of the blazer to the front (After we saw people did this with shirts, is it an updated version for wearing boyfriend’s chunky blazers?) And you can see those vibrant prints hiding underneath.

Remember when Tavi Gevinson posed in her mom’s wardrobe, swam in those adult sized fashion clothes in an 11-year-old figure and caused a fashion storm on the internet? She was the pre-Instagram era influencers and one of the youngest to create the “Granny Chic.” And all the Toga girls we’ve seen today are all escaped from their grandmother's house to the runway.

The saturated plain colours made a good balance with the silk prints. And silk prints: Now you can wear your mother’s/grandmother’s big silk scarf with long ,hooded windbreakers, tied around your waist as a belt, or use a few different ones to make a skirt underneath your trench coat, or even cut them off, make them into patches to put on some outfit you think might be too simple.

Among many circles attending fashion shows you may not be the only one to exclaim that whilst the clothes worn by models storming the catwalk are visually stunning, they are too outrageous for the daily humdrums of your own life.  It is, perhaps, an ingrained belief that luxury fashion that is appealing to the eye may come at a loss of practicality.

Moschino 2018 Men’s and Women’s Pre-Fall Overt/Covert

“Clothes help bind us to our gender.” Or maybe, I would use “helped.” Maybe our physical bodies taught us about dividing our gender, a stereotype. However, clothes are not an issue for defining our gender now.

Imagery is the most influential media to represent a visual statement; we firstly have still photography, then we are turning into a generation with moving images. The massive quantity of messages, emotions, aesthetics which sent through the imagery based media is extraordinarily powerful.
