With models perching on speakers, frozen into statuesque poses and backed by a structured sound system that echoed eerie sounds through the space, Michiko Koshino certainly created a presentation that was memorable in its unearthly ambience at London Fashion Week.
Decked in heavily padded inflatable jackets, hoodies and long coats, the collection was effective in its minimalistic take on colours, materials and patterns. In incorporating coloured zips in a tone that contrasted against the material of the coat, the shaping was ultimately contoured, providing them with an eye catching outline that practically glowed in the dark lighting.
In creating only a few vocal points, Michiko Koshino AW17 demonstrated that a simple approach to outerwear can at times be the most striking and effective.
